Welpen stubenrein bekommen: Der komplette Plan (14 Tage)

The moment the puppy arrives, the cleaning begins. The truth upfront: no puppy becomes house-trained on its own — but with the right system, most succeed in two to three weeks.

The Principle: Prevent rather than react

Puppies need to go after sleeping, eating, playing, and approximately every 1–2 hours. Taking the puppy out before it goes prevents a puddle instead of cleaning it up. Every successful potty break outside is immediately and calmly rewarded.

The 5 Most Important Rules

  1. Fixed Times: After every nap, every meal, every play — immediately go out, always to the same spot.
  2. At Night: Waking up once and taking them out is better than a puddle at 3 AM. The need decreases week by week.
  3. Never Scold: A punished puppy only learns to hide to relieve itself. An accident? Clean it up without comment (with enzyme cleaner — otherwise the scent mark remains).
  4. Supervise or Limit: What you don't see, you can't prevent. Puppy zone instead of the entire house.
  5. The Whole Family Joins In: Same times, same spot, same praise — otherwise the puppy won't understand the rule.

Where Most Fail

Not due to lack of knowledge — but due to consistency and coordination. That's why our Puppy Quick-Start Guide works with a concrete 14-day plan plus a family checklist for the first 30 days: house-training, bite inhibition, being alone, and socialization — day by day, as a PDF directly to your phone.

If incontinence persists for weeks despite a consistent plan, have your vet check your puppy's bladder and bowel.
